Imagine a world without things that you enjoy! From the toothbrush that you pick in daily morning to pillow that you use in the night to sleep comfortably, we enjoy many things in our life-time. Retailers, distributors, FMCG companies, and now a days e-commerce makes it possible that our needs are fulfilled. Category management is a discipline in this space.
The idea of this newsletter is to aggregate all the perspectives and tools utilized by category leaders across the Industry. To develop a one stop platform for category managers, retail managers.
This newsletter is the outcome of the struggle that I had once as a newbie when I first joined in a category management role. I learnt the tricks of the trade on the job from my managers, my colleagues, and the internet. My only hope is that I could improve the learning curve for others who are new in the field.
Why “thinking” category?! Because my belief is that category management is not only the process of managing business by diving into small small units that make sense but it is also about the mindset. We will talk about it later in detail. For now, think category :)
